Good Life Journal - Proverbs 30

Proverbs 20:13 Love not sleep, lest you come to poverty; open your eyes, and you will have plenty of bread.

Sleeping in and sleeping often will lead to poverty. However, rising often and early will ensure your needs are met.

I love to sleep, nap and be in my "Jammies" aka pajamas. I love rainy days when it is dark and cold and being in a snuggie watching a movie. However, that is ok for a sabbath day. What's not ok is if it becomes a habit. The sharpest and most impactful people I know rise early and work hard. Talent can only take you so far in life. Nothing can replace hard work and sweat equity. A few things...

⁃ enjoy relaxing when it is time to relax.
⁃ Don't relax or rest when it is work time.
⁃ Realize every moment I am resting when I should be laboring, someone could be slipping through the cracks.
⁃ Hard work honors God. May I work as if I am working for Him because I am.

Father thank you for the word. I want to work hard and not be lazy. May I dedicate each day to you and be known as a hard worker and a diligent servant.
