Good Life Journal - Mark 4
Mark 4:39 And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
Jesus was at rest in the midst of a dangerous storm. How is this possible? He has authority over everything, including nature. He gets up and calms the storm with his words.
I find myself just like the disciples. I freak out when circumstances seem to be mounting against me. Whether it is financial, relational, work stuff, I just have a tendency to worry and assume that Jesus is sleeping on the job. However what I learn from this story is that Jesus has peace in all circumstances because he isn't positioned under them, but rather is the Lord over them. He isn't under circumstances of life. He is over them and commands them. I must recognize that no situation I face is too big for Jesus or out of His jurisdiction. Even the storms and nature are submitted to His authority.
1. Trust that nothing is too big for Him.
2. Recognize that if He isn't acting it's not because He doesn't care but rather because it isn't that big of a deal.
3. Recognize the same spirit that dwelled within Jesus has been given to me. I don't have to fear, I have been given authority as well. Not to show off but to accomplish His will.
Forgive me for stressing about stuff. You are above every circumstance I will ever find myself in.
